2018
The Stop Slavery Hotel Industry Network published their “Framework for Working with Suppliers: Mitigating Risk of Modern Slavery. The Framework is a tool intended to be used by stakeholders at various levels of management within the hotel industry. It recommends specific responsibility for brands, hotel owners and management companies, based on the experience and input of the Network.

After consulting with the wider industry, government and anti-slavery NGOs, Shiva Foundation launched the Stop Slavery Blueprint, a free online tool to help hoteliers tackle risk of modern slavery in their business and supply chains. It includes guidance, templates, training, signs to spot and reporting protocols.

2017
Shiva Foundation’s Stop Slavery Blueprint was rolled out across the Shiva Hotels portfolio.

In partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire and County Council, Shiva Foundation ran a conference for over 250 representatives from statutory agencies focused on tackling modern slavery in the region. The conference was backed by the then Prime Minister, Theresa May.
2016
Shiva Foundation, in partnership with Thomson Reuters Foundation held an industry roundtable to learn best practice for tackling human trafficking in the hotel industry. This lead to the creation of the Stop Slavery Hotel Industry Network, which was officially launched at the Trust conference.
